What We Promote

The Midwest High Speed Rail Association is advocating for fast, frequent and dependable trains linking the entire Midwest.

Just how fast - and how frequent - will depend upon the route and local conditions.

Making fast trains a reality will require state and federal investment in new tracks and trains; a new partnership with the railroads; and a commitment to change a multitude of policies that discourage non-automotive transport.

We believe that the federal and state governments should adopt a policy of continuous improvements, treating the existing Amtrak network as a strong foundation.

We, of course, want a very aggressive program, but recognize that decades of federal and state policies cannot be changed overnight.
