Projects in Missouri

St. Louis-Kansas City
Missouri received $31 million in ARRA funds to reduce delays. Projects include building a second bridge over the Osage River, adding a crossover at Kirkwood and grade-crossing safety improvements. Funding also included preliminary engineering for six future projects.

St. Louis-Springfield, MO
Amtrak completed a corridor feasibility study for this corridor in May 2007. They concluded that if operated on existing track, costs would be limited to upgrading several small track areas and constructing rail station infrastructure. However, in that scenario, trains would only be able to complete the 234-mile trip in over 5 hours, significantly slower than driving.
