
The above map combines existing Amtrak routes and other passenger rail routes proposed by elected leaders around the Midwest. It demonstrates a true desire to connect the entire Midwest with fast, frequent and dependable trains.
If completed, the outcome would be incredible.
29% of the network would be on new tracks dedicated to high-speed trains. The balance would be on upgraded freight tracks.
This is remarkably similar to the Obama administration’s vision for the entire country.
Together, these projects will revolutionize how we travel, and create more than 1.1 million jobs across the region.
