Who We Are
The Midwest High Speed Rail Association is a membership-based non-profit organization advocating the development of fast, frequent and dependable passenger trains linking the entire Midwest.
We believe that a strong network of fast trains will make the Midwest a more attractive place to live and do business while slowing the growth of auto congestion and its related energy and pollution impacts.

Our goal is to build a broad base of support for major changes in passenger rail policies. The new policies should encourage the development of a wide range of intercity train services including extended commuter rail, daily overnight trains, fast conventional trains and ultimately high-speed rail.
That goal is represented in our broad membership base. Our nearly 1,700 members include individuals, chambers of commerce, municipalities and corporations across the Midwest. |
We conduct a broad range of educational activities, including: meetings with national, state, and local leaders; a speakers bureau targeting chambers of commerce, Rotaries, and other public service organizations; rail advocate conferences and rallies; policy papers; a quarterly newsletter; and two web sites.
We have celebrated important successes in the past year, including the creation of an Intercity Passenger Rail Fund in Illinois.
