The Midwest High Speed Rail Association, in partnership with All Aboard Ohio, held its annual fall meeting in Cleveland, OH on October 29th.
Approximately 100 people were in attendance throughout a day of presentations that ranged from industry updates, preliminary findings of a new high-speed rail study, and on-going federal advocacy efforts. The focus of the meeting was on looking at solutions-based high-speed rail initiatives that will create a healthier transportation system which provides a competitive edge, creates jobs, and improves quality of life for residents in the region.
Representatives from TranSystems and ESH Consult discussed the preliminary findings of a comprehensive study spelling out the job creation, economic development, quality of life, and environmental benefits of a multi-state Midwest high-speed rail system. The fully study, commissioned by MHSRA, is scheduled for release in December 2011.
